Pyromania
Pyromania is a rare impulse control disorder characterized by a deliberate and purposeful pattern of fire-setting. Individuals experience tension or arousal before setting fires and feel pleasure, gratification, or relief when doing so or when witnessing the aftermath. The fire-setting is not motivated by financial gain, revenge, or political ideology. Treatment involves cognitive-behavioral therapy and addressing co-occurring conditions.
