Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder
Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder involves persistent or recurrent experiences of feeling detached from one's own mind, body, or actions (depersonalization) or feeling that one's surroundings are unreal, dreamlike, or distorted (derealization). Throughout these episodes, the individual remains aware that these experiences are not real. The condition is often triggered by severe stress or trauma and can be treated with psychotherapy.
