Burnout
Burnout is a state of chronic physical and emotional exhaustion resulting from prolonged and excessive stress, particularly in the workplace. Recognized by the WHO in the ICD-11 as an occupational phenomenon, it is characterized by three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization or cynicism, and reduced personal accomplishment. While not classified as a medical condition, burnout can lead to depression, anxiety, and physical health problems if unaddressed.
